Neuroscience 2023 Virtual Component
Thank You for Joining Us Online for the Neuroscience 2023 Virtual Component
Keeping in mind difficulty around travel to Washington, D.C., to attend Neuroscience 2023 in-person, SfN Council decided to offer a sampling of annual meeting content virtually, including the opportunity for virtual posters. This will allow those who cannot travel for any reason, including health, caretaking, cost, etc., to participate in Neuroscience 2023 in at least a limited fashion. Since the Neuroscience 2023 Virtual Component includes both virtual posters and live broadcasting of some sessions, as well as Q&A opportunities, virtual participants will be able to be a part of Neuroscience 2023 as it happens.
On-demand content from #SfN23 was available to view in the virtual platform through December 15, 2023.
Virtual Component Offerings
The Neuroscience 2023 Virtual Component consists of virtual posters, featured and special lectures, and a sampling of symposia, minisymposia, and featured panels. Up to 24 lectures will be streamed live from the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, and a recording will also be available on-demand after the session broadcast. The Neuroscience 2023 Virtual Component will also include up to 18 symposia, minisymposia, and featured panel sessions — a selection of the scientific program representing all scientific themes and illustrative of the breadth of the field. These will be streamed live from the Walter E. Washington Convention Center and available on-demand after the event. Virtual attendees will be able to participate in the live Q&A for each livestreamed lecture and symposia/minisymposia/featured panel.

Virtual Poster Details
Virtual posters will consist of a single or multi-page PDF with the option to upload a video that is 5 minutes or less. Each poster will have an asynchronous chat where visitors can leave questions or comments for poster presenters. Presenters can log in and answer questions/comments at their convenience.
All Neuroscience 2023 abstract presenters will have the opportunity to present their poster in-person, virtually, or both. The primary presentation choice must be indicated at the time of abstract submission. In-person presentation includes the option to present virtually. Virtual-only registration includes this single presentation option. Any decision to switch from virtual to in-person must be made by August 25, after which your poster cannot be guaranteed to be placed near the other posters in your poster session. The deadline for switching from in-person to virtual-only is October 30, as we know that people may be unable to anticipate reasons for this switch until right before the meeting. There will be a single abstract submission fee regardless of presentation format and no cost for switching.
All poster content must be uploaded by October 26, 2023. For details on uploading virtual poster content, review the virtual poster presentation resources.
