Advocacy Training Seminars
SfN offers customized in-person advocacy training seminars on the best ways to begin and strengthen their efforts as a #NeuroAdvocate. Applications for sessions are evaluated by staff and volunteer leadership to determine the reach and impact of the event as well as its alignment with strategic priorities.
About the Program
Advocacy training seminars reveal the frameworks and best practices for being an effective advocate for neuroscience and science policy. Attendees gain the necessary skills to work with their communities and policymakers to advance neuroscience research and discovery as well as encourage others to join the conversation.
Sessions consists of a two- or four-hour training with a member of the SfN advocacy team. The two-hour training covers all the tips and tricks for being a successful #NeuroAdvocate, while the four-hour training incorporates activities for participants to deepen their involvement with advocacy.
If you are unable to hold a session or if opportunities fill up in a given year, SfN also offers an online advocacy training video series that provides foundational information on the topics and themes found in the training.
