Partner with a Local Chapter
Get involved with your local SfN chapter and help to coordinate advocacy activities to promote the importance of neuroscience. There are more than 100 local chapters to partner with or start your own!
Actions to Take:
- Participate in regular advocacy activities from the NeuroAdvocate Challenge
- Volunteer to serve as a chair of advocacy and direct advocacy activities
- Motion to prioritize advocacy as a chapter goal
- Organize a policy or advocacy-themed event for the chapter:
- Host public seminars or forums about a policy-related issue
- Include speakers or panels about policy issues in the chapter’s annual symposium
- Host a discussion group about a policy issue
- Organize a policy-themed happy hour
- Partner with other local organizations to make the constituency voice stronger and more visible to legislators
