The Society for Neuroscience (SfN) will honor several highly accomplished researchers who have made significant contributions to the advancement of women in neuroscience.

Thanks to the generosity of donors to the Friends of SfN Fund, foundation and corporate supporters, and SfN Council, the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) is supporting a record 272 neuroscience trainees to attend Neuroscience 2022 through the Trainee Professional Development Award (TPDA) program.

SfN member Robert C. Malenka, MD, PhD, Pritzker Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioural Sciences, Stanford University has been awarded the 2022 Peter Seeburg Integrative Neuroscience Prize for his ground-breaking research in identifying the mechanically distinct forms of synaptic plasticity present in the human brain.

Lisa Giocomo, PhD, assistant professor in the Department of Neurobiology at the Stanford University School of Medicine, and Christopher Harvey, PhD, assistant professor in the Harvard Medical School Department of Neurobiology, have been selected to receive this year’s Young Investigator Award.

The Society for Neuroscience (SfN) will present the Julius Axelrod Prize to Stephen Waxman, MD, PhD, of Yale University.

The Society for Neuroscience (SfN) has named Vikram Gadagkar, PhD, a postdoctoral fellow in Jesse H. Goldberg’s lab at Cornell University, and Johannes Kohl, PhD, a postdoctoral fellow in Catherine Dulac's lab at Harvard University, as the recipients of this year’s Peter and Patricia Gruber International Research Award.

The Society for Neuroscience (SfN) will award the Donald B. Lindsley Prize in Behavioral Neuroscience to Marley Kass, PhD, of Rutgers University.

SfN will award Erik Herzog, PhD, professor of biology at Washington University and director of the St. Louis Neuroscience Pipeline Program, and Gönül Peker, PhD, professor emeritus at Ege University, Turkey, this year's Award for Education in Neuroscience.

Rodolfo Llinás, MD, PhD, Thomas and Suzanne Murphy Professor of Neuroscience and chairman emeritus of physiology and neuroscience at the New York University School of Medicine, will receive this year’s Ralph W. Gerard Prize in Neuroscience.

Kenneth Miller, PhD, will receive the 2018 Swartz Prize in Theoretical and Computational Neuroscience for his cumulative contributions to theoretical models or computational methods in neuroscience.
