Emery N. Brown, MD, PhD, will receive the 2020 Swartz Prize for Theoretical and Computational Neuroscience. The $30,000 prize, supported by the Swartz Foundation, honors an individual whose work has produced a significant cumulative contribution to theoretical models or computational methods in neuroscience or who has made a particularly noteworthy recent advance to the field.

The Society for Neuroscience (SfN) has received a grant of $150,000 over three years from the Dana Foundation to support BrainFacts.org. This will allow SfN to increase multimedia content on BrainFacts.org using enhanced site capabilities, produce compelling neuroscience content driven by narrative and storytelling, and continue to reach new audiences to advance the global understanding of the brain and nervous system.

With the addition of 123 scholars who accepted, the total current cohort (including 2019-2021) now encompasses 215 graduate students and postdoctoral researchers. Combined with Program’s past scholars (dating back to 1981), the NSP alumni network now encompasses nearly 1,200 underrepresented neuroscience researchers at all career stages!
