2017 Membership Renewal Now Open: SfN Freezes Membership Dues and Offers New Renewal DiscountsÂ
For the next two years, SfN will hold individual membership dues at the 2016 rate in recognition of continued financial pressures facing many scientists and to help build greater awareness about the value of SfN membership. This decision reflects the deep recognition of challenges we are all confronting. By holding dues flat, the Society’s leadership recognizes that we all thrive when we can bring as many people into the SfN community as possible. Therefore, in calendar years 2017 and 2018, membership dues and journal publishing fees will remain flat at calendar year 2016 levels.
Additionally, the Society affirmed its desire to recognize loyalty and encourage membership through financial incentives and will maintain substantial discounts for members on major SfN programs including journal publishing, annual meeting registration, and more.
The Auto-Renewal incentive expired at the end of the annual meeting on November 17. 920 members took advantage of this incentive. If you missed it, there is another fantastic opportunity to save on renewing your SfN membership below.
- Buy two years and save per year – New and returning members can elect to pay for two years of membership – for 2017 and 2018 – and save 20 percent for each year.
Your SfN membership not only helps us put on world class events like Neuroscience 2016, and publish JNeurosci and eNeuro, but also enables advocacy efforts, professional development opportunities, and public outreach, which all offer unique value for those who invest in the Society’s programs through their membership. During the last year, SfN has introduced expanded members-only programming to offer even greater value to members no matter where they are in their careers. These critical activities cannot happen without SfN members like you. Within the last year we achieved greater connections within the field through Neuronline; and, expanded our reach through global institutions, international partners and SfN chapters. Those efforts will continue to be built upon as we embark on the New Year.
