Mobile App Data Privacy and Opt-in Instructions
Mobile App Data Privacy
Neuroscience 2026 registrants have the option to be included in two new features in the meeting mobile app. These features include Peer Finder (a searchable, filterable list of registrants) and Smart Matches (a closed-system AI tool that makes networking suggestions based on similar interests).
To facilitate these features, full name, title, institution, country, and annual meeting schedule as entered into the app will be used. Logged-in attendees will only be able to message one another through the mobile app. Attendee data will not be sold or used for other purposes and will be deleted after the meeting. Data will not be used for AI training.
Opt-in Settings
Inclusion in these features is optional. Registrants opt into being included via the annual meeting registration form. Attendees may update their preferences by logging into the Registration Resource Center and navigating to Update Contact Information under My Account.
Feature Details
-
Peer Finder
All annual meeting registrants who opt in will be searchable in an attendee list in the mobile app. Mobile app users can filter the attendee list by professional interests, personal interests, country, and institution.
-
Smart Matches
Smart Matches are formed based on overlaps in schedules, professional interests, and personal interests. Mobile app users can update their interests under Edit My Profile.
Updating Profile Details
In the mobile app, registrants can update their profile settings. Tap the Networking icon on the app home screen and then tap Edit My Profile. From there, mobile app users can upload a profile photo, write a short bio, and select professional and personal interests. Profile details can be updated at any time. Profile details are not shared outside of the mobile app and will be deleted after the meeting.
